The 9-6 Calgary win over Hialeah was due largely to Tim Raines. The Lynx third baseman went 4-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Picking up the save was Richard Albright, his 4th. The first-place Lynx improved to 46-31.

With Calgary leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Raines batted against Hialeah pitcher Lonnie Slaughter. Raines hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season put the Lynx on top, 6-1.
