The Hartford Pride managed to get by the Ft. Myers Marlins, 2-1, at League Park. Hartford pitcher Toshiki Matsushita set himself apart with his performance. Glenn Patterson locked down his 15th save. Hartford is now 30-47, Ft. Myers 42-35.

Jeffery Morrison came through for Hartford when he hit a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a two-strike changeup to right field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.

"Toshiki just settled in and did what he does," said Hartford manager Tim Fowler.
