Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Ft. Myers Marlins and Port Royal Disaster.

The Ft. Myers Marlins powered past the Port Royal Disaster, 9-5, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Matt Yarbrough provided some of the pop. He was 1-4 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ft. Myers reliever Howard Campbell picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Miguel Aguirre was saddled with the loss.

The Marlins got an important contribution from first baseman Robert Houston, who in the top of the first knocked a 3-1 changeup to left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Marlins ahead, 3-0.

Yarbrough told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.

The Marlins saw their record improve to 38-40.
