Extra-Inning Win by Thunderbirds Over Blitzkrieg
|
Port Huron second baseman Larry Davis had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 11-7, to Hamilton in 10 innings. Davis was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The win went to Mark Horton in relief, making him now 1-2. Carlos Rosado took the loss for Port Huron. Hamilton's record now stands at 38-40, placing them 7th in the Menard's AAA.
Hamilton used the timely hitting of Todd Crowe to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Thunderbirds manager Jesús Garces. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
