Austin third baseman Kuniyuki Sato made his presence felt in the 6-4 Black Mambas triumph over the Pawnee ParksNRec. Sato slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Austin goes to 34-44, Pawnee to 40-38.
Austin got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Raúl Hernández. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Black Mambas ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
In comments to the Austin News, Hernández admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
