Nikolaj Molnar had a good game, but he could not keep the Vermont Lake Monsters from falling, 4-3, to the Hartford Pride at Monster Field. The Vermont first baseman hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice in the loss. The Pride improved their record to 42-36 by beating Vermont.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ted Garrett? The 24-year old left fielder Garrett stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Hartford up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Vermont manager Alfonso Núñez.
