The Calgary Lynx defeated the Syracuse Starks, 7-2. Shortstop Robin Merlet deserved a large share of the credit. Merlet went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Lynx. Calgary is in 9th place in the Premier AAA with a record of 9-14.

Calgary took a 5-2 lead on Merlet's 7th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Wan-hua Yi in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Calgary to the win.

"Nice win for us," said Merlet. "Now we'll go after the next one."
