The Hialeah Dodos knocked off the Sunset District Fog, 7-6, at Dodos Ballpark. Michael Smith was a big reason Hialeah won. The first baseman was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Hialeah reliever Carl van Bekenes snagged the win, upping his record to 2-3. Andrew Martin shouldered the loss. The 5th-place Dodos have a record of 42-37.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Hialeah trailing 6-5, Smith jumped on a sinker from 29-year old left-handed pitcher Andrew Martin and hit a 2-run home run to left-center. With one swing, the Dodos had a walk-off win.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Sunset District manager Brady Bess. "But we decided not to take it."
