Lake Monsters Winners, 3-2, Over Lynx
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters, despite a fine performance by Calgary pitcher Sidney Jones, grabbed a 3-2 win at Lynx Stadium. Jones allowed 3 runs over 8.2 innings. Nicholas Reyes recorded the save for Vermont, his 2nd of the season. The Lake Monsters now have a record of 41-39.
Vermont won the game in part because of Bartolo Bode. The center fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 2-0. For the game, Bode had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Every loss stings," said Calgary manager Steve Duncan. "This one is no exception."
