The Austin Black Mambas defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-3. Second Baseman Eric Duncan deserved a large share of the credit. Duncan was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for the Black Mambas. Lee tai hoi Chen recorded the save, his 5th. By defeating Vermont, the 7th-place Black Mambas improved to 39-42.

Duncan made an early impact for Austin when he stroked his 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the bottom of the third, put the Black Mambas on top, 3-0.

"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Duncan.
