Buzz catcher Dustin Ackerman left his imprint on his team's 5-3 win over the Port Royal Disaster. Ackerman was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Salt Lake City in the contest. Earnest McClure got the win, improving to 6-5. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Mario Happ, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save.

Ackerman had a timely hit for Salt Lake City in the top of the seventh. With Salt Lake City trailing 3-2, he turned a 2-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City manager Todd Hines was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.

The win elevated the Buzz to 46-38.
