Behind a solid performance from center fielder Jeff Huffman, the Hialeah Dodos defeated the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 6-2. Huffman went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles for the Dodos. With the victory, the Dodos upped their record to 45-39.
Hialeah used a clutch at-bat from Gilberto Miranda to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Dodos ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Miranda told the Hialeah Chronicle.
