Hialeah pitcher Rubén Quintana had a large part in his team beating the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 14-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The 4th-place Dodos bumped their record to 46-39.

The Dodos got a big hit from second baseman Gilberto Miranda. Facing Hamilton pitcher Casper Trout in the bottom of the eighth, Miranda pounded a bases-clearing double to right-center. His 5th double of the season put the Dodos ahead, 13-1.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Miranda.
