The Virginia Beach Whales cruised to a win over the Tacoma Fur Traders, 15-2, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Corey Browning led the way, going 2-for-3 for Virginia Beach. Miguel Martínez was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was Kent Nelson. Virginia Beach goes to 1-1.

The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Browning hit a 2-run triple. It thrust the Whales into the lead, 3-1.

"Not much to say," Tacoma manager Owen Kieffer said, when asked afterward about the defeat.
