Flyers Rally to Win
|
The Pennsauken Flyers outlasted the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 4-3, in 10 innings. Mark Jarvis played a key role, going 3-for-4 for Pennsauken. Pablo Gonzáles sewed up the save, his 5th. Their 12-15 record puts the Flyers 9th in the Premier AAA.
Pennsauken used the timely hitting of Clifford Tolbert to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Flyers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like winning," Tolbert told the Pennsauken News. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
