Thunderbirds Earn 5-4 Win Versus Pride
|
The Hamilton Thunderbirds polished off the Hartford Pride by the score of 5-4. The largest share of the credit belonged to center fielder George White. White was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Thunderbirds. Wilbert Irwin, who is tied for 5th in the 3AAA in innings pitched with 113.1, was the winner. He's now 3-9. The loser was Fabian Calkhoven. The triumph makes Hamilton 24-62.
Craig Welch drew 2 walks for Hamilton. The 31-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Fabian Calkhoven. It was his 51st walk of the season.
