Drooping Marlins Lose 6th Straight
|
The Austin Black Mambas defeated the Ft. Myers Marlins, 5-3, in M3L Triple A action at Mamba Park. Austin pitcher Sanya Matlah had a standout performance. Alan Sanderson earned the save for Austin, his 4th of the year. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Ft. Myers.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Joaquín González came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ft. Myers pitcher Tsurayaki Tanaka, he hit a 0-1 curveball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Austin on top, 5-3.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," González told the Austin Gazette.
