Buzz Even Record with 6-3 Victory
|
Salt Lake City and Monongahela got after it at Timber Hawks Ballpark.
The Salt Lake City Buzz defeated the Monongahela Monsters, 6-3. Center Fielder Blake Gordon deserved a large share of the credit. Gordon went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Buzz. Dave Davis, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 9 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 7-7. Frank Smith picked up the save, his 16th.
Scott Miller drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Salt Lake City. The 30-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Hyeong-ro Yi. It was his 15th walk of the season.
"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Gordon told the Salt Lake City Times.
The Buzz go to 43-43, putting them 6th in the Menard's AAA.
