The first-place Plymouth Rocks took on the Vermont Lake Monsters in front of a spirited crowd.

Plymouth right-hander Craig Lucas pitched his team to victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Plymouth Quarry. The final score was 6-3. Lucas, now 3-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 3 runs.

The Rocks got a big at-bat from left fielder Wayne Summers. For the game, Summers was 1 for 3 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Plymouth a 5-2 lead.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Plymouth manager Gerald Clark.

Plymouth is now 57-29, 4½ games up in the Menard's AAA.
