Squirrel Monkeys Win Squeaker, 2-1, Over Red Pandas
|
Sioux Falls pitcher Vicente Medina gave the Squirrel Monkeys all they could handle, but in the end, Syracuse left The Zoo in Syracuse with a win, 2-1. Medina allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings. Mitch O'Sullivan recorded his 5th save for Syracuse. The win puts Syracuse at 47-39 this season.
Syracuse took a 2-1 lead on Greg Myers's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Myers hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Sioux Falls pitcher Waleliano Girawheen visibly frustrated.
Syracuse manager Will Boyle commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
