Loons Spoil Opening Day for MotorBoaters, Their Fans
The 2063 season did not get off to quite the start the Lake Murray MotorBoaters had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Minnesota Loons at Heron Field. The final score was 7-2. Right Fielder Juan Barajas was the top performer for Minnesota. Simon Grant earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. Kun Yi got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Esteban Colón aided the Minnesota cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-2 with 2 walks.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Barajas.
