Plymouth Quarry was the site for M3L Triple A action featuring the Hudson Bay Redwoods and Plymouth Rocks.
Plymouth got a first-rate effort from pitcher Pedro Soto, who frustrated Hudson Bay hitters en route to a 3-0 Rocks triumph at Plymouth Quarry. Soto, now 5-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Robert Poynter recorded his 12th save for Plymouth.
Tied up with the Redwoods in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Rocks got a boost from shortstop Emílio Núñes. With the bases loaded, Núñes saw a 0-1 changeup from Darius Brooks and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Plymouth on top, 1-0.
Plymouth manager Gerald Clark praised his team's "energy."
Plymouth is now 44-43.
