At The Zoo in Syracuse, the Salt Lake City Buzz and Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys starter Pete Scott found his groove in his team's 6-3 win over the Salt Lake City Buzz. Scott, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. Micheal Bly collected save number 12.
Early in the game, center fielder Diego Guzmán had a 2-run home run for Syracuse. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 2-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Guzmán, "and today was a good one for us."
With the win, the Squirrel Monkeys improved to 53-34.
