The Sioux Falls Red Pandas earned a close win over the Salt Lake City Buzz, thanks in part to Steven Weaver. The Sioux Falls right-hander, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2056 draft, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Orlando Bermúdez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities. Sioux Falls is now 44-45, Salt Lake City 43-46.
The Red Pandas had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Sioux Falls, with no one out. Salt Lake City, with the bases empty, was mounting a threat. Derek Sundquist dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch fastball, he flied out.
