Sacramento and Montreal got after it at Stade Olympique.

The Sacramento Redlegs defeated the Montreal Machine by the score of 16-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher José Aguilar. Aguilar was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Redlegs on the day. Steve Crabtree got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Machine to 2 runs on 6 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 1.

Sacramento used the stroke of José Vera to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Redlegs ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"It never gets old," said Aguilar. "Winning, that is."

The Redlegs now have a record of 20-17 with the win over Montreal.
