Syracuse Gets 2-1 Win
Jorge Vázquez never let the Dogfish Head get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Starks to a win, 2-1. Vázquez, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing no runs. The 6th-place Starks improved to 18-19.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Sasha Mamchenko? The Syracuse left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Starks on top, 2-0. For the game, Mamchenko had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
