Lake Monsters Pull Out Late Win, 4-3
The Vermont Lake Monsters did just enough to sneak past the Ft. Myers Marlins, 4-3, at Monster Field. Vermont second baseman Kevin Archer, in particular, had a standout performance. The win belonged to Chris MacIntyre in relief. His record improves to 2-6. Tsurayaki Tanaka took the loss for Ft. Myers. Ft. Myers, at 44-47, has lost 11 straight.

Steve Barnett was the walk-off hero for Vermont. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lake Monsters center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Lake Monsters manager Alfonso Núñez.
