The Austin Black Mambas locked up a win at Mamba Park, knocking off the Port Royal Disaster, 4-1. On the mound for Austin was left-hander Curt Stokes. He played a major role in the triumph. In 6 innings, Stokes surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Francisco Pacheco nailed down the save.

Austin went up, 3-1, on Mike Harris's 18th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Harris hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Port Royal pitcher Pepe Aguilar shaking his head.

Harris called the win a testament to his team's "grit."

The third-place Black Mambas bumped their record to 52-40.
