Lake Monsters Win Streak Now at 7 After 8-6 Victory
The Vermont Lake Monsters had to overcome a big game from Florida second baseman Mike Blake to leave Monster Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-6. Blake went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Howard Moore got the save, the 1st for him this season. Vermont has now reeled off 7 straight wins.

Had Dominic Slocombe not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Slocombe hit a 2-run double. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Lake Monsters.

"I feel like we're rolling now," Slocombe told the Vermont Gazette."The dugout is coming alive."
