The Hamilton Thunderbirds, despite a fine performance by Syracuse pitcher Chin-seok Kim, grabbed a 1-0 win in 10 innings at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Kim allowed no runs over 8 innings. The triumph makes Hamilton 29-65.

Batting in the bottom of the tenth, 28-year old first baseman Joe Kramer had a real shot to win the game. Syracuse pitcher Micheal Bly was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Kramer hit a run-scoring single. The Thunderbirds had a walk-off triumph.

During his postgame press conference, Thunderbirds manager Jesús Garces told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
