Disaster Earn Win with Late Rally
The Vermont Lake Monsters got a sterling performance from pitcher Roberto Cerda, but the Port Royal Disaster still prevailed, 2-1. Cerda threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Dave McCormick got credit for the win, improving to 4-5. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. With the win, Port Royal upped its record to 48-46.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Port Royal third baseman Juan Pacheco, facing Daniel Ricciardo, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Disaster the 2-1 win.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Pacheco.
