The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, despite a fine performance by Hamilton pitcher Martin Roach, grabbed a 2-1 win at The Zoo in Syracuse. Roach allowed 2 runs over 8 innings. Picking up the win was Yefim Vistunov. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 1. Colton Phillips picked up his 13th save of the season.

Steve García drove in one run against the Thunderbirds. With the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Syracuse in front, 2-1.

"We found a way to get it done," García said.

The second-place Squirrel Monkeys go to 57-38.
