The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes got a magnificent effort from pitcher Larry Larsen, who kept Austin hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Golden Cranes win at Mamba Park. Larsen, now 3-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Nathan Jordan earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
Santa Barbara second baseman Conceição Adriano contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a forkball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 56th hit of the season and put the Golden Cranes ahead, 3-1.
"I still think this team can play even better," Adriano told the Santa Barbara Herald.
