Sunset District Gets 5-2 Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Sunset District Fog and Austin Black Mambas.
Sunset District pitcher Craig Smith did his part in helping his team defeat the Austin Black Mambas, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Smith, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Teddy Harvey closed out the game, earning his 11th save.
Carlos García dealt the Black Mambas a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Sunset District leading 3-2, García hit a 2-1 changeup for a 2-run single.
Smith attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
Austin has now lost 4 straight.
