The Salt Lake City Buzz had to overcome a fine effort from Florida pitcher Andrei Demian to win, 4-3, at Psychos Ballpark. Demian went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Reliever Manuel Peña picked up the win. His record improves to 6-3. Don Walker, who is tied for 10th in the 3AAA in wins with 7, took the loss. The 4th-place Buzz are 53-43.
Salt Lake City used the clutch hitting of Kyle Nelson to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Buzz ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"We did a lot of things right," said Nelson.
