Rocks Collect 7-6 Win Over Lake Monsters
|
Fans watched the Plymouth Rocks and the Vermont Lake Monsters fight to the finish.
The Plymouth Rocks faced a tough opponent in Vermont pitcher David García, but still scratched out a win at Monster Field by a final score of 7-6 in 11 innings. García went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. The Rocks now have a mark of 55-41.
Emílio Núñes drew 3 walks for Plymouth. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the 11th inning, Núñes had a clutch at-bat. Facing Vermont hurler Howard Moore, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Rocks a 7-6 lead.
"We found a way to get it done," Núñes said.
