The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys picked up a win at The Zoo in Syracuse, dropping the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-1. Pete Scott was the difference-maker. Syracuse reliever Micheal Bly picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Mauro Ramos was saddled with the loss. The victory gives Syracuse a record of 59-38.

Syracuse got a knockout punch from Phil Fields. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Scott told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
