Buzz 8-6 Winners Versus Hialeah
|
Hialeah catcher Lewis Brinkler was sensational. He went 4-4 with 4 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Salt Lake City beat the Dodos, 8-6. Salt Lake City reliever Brad Bray got the win, raising his record to 5-3. Steve King was tagged with the loss. Sib Gijbels earned the save, his 14th, for the Buzz.
Salt Lake City took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Sumitomo Shimizu hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Buzz.
Shimizu told the Salt Lake City Observer: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
The 6th-place Buzz are 51-47.
