Sunset District and Hudson Bay put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Sunset District Fog beat the Hudson Bay Redwoods, 8-5, at Redwood Field. Sunset District designated hitter Tom Sloan had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tanner Davis, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-1. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Teddy Harvey recorded the save for Sunset District, his 17th of the season.
Sloan had a key at-bat for Sunset District in the top of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Sunset District an early 3-0 lead.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Sloan.
The Fog, at 54-45, sit in 5th place in the Menard's AAA.
