The Vermont Lake Monsters got a magnificent effort from pitcher Olaf Blees, who kept Pawnee hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Lake Monsters win at Monster Field. Vermont reliever Howard Moore picked up the win to move to 4-1. Todd Lee suffered the loss. Vermont has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

Had Calvin Shanahan not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Shanahan hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Lake Monsters.
