Redwoods Overwhelm Rocks, 16-6
|
The 16-6 Hudson Bay win over Plymouth was due largely to Jesús Molina. The Redwoods center fielder was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Zebulon Pike picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. David Downs, who is tied for 6th in the 3AAA with a 7.9 K/9 rate, was tagged with the loss. Today's win puts Hudson Bay at 62-40, while Plymouth falls to 53-49.
With Hudson Bay leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Molina batted against Plymouth pitcher David Downs. Molina hit a changeup to right for a bases-clearing double. His 10th double of the season put the Redwoods on top, 6-0.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Hudson Bay manager Alfonso Núñez.
