Monongahela Monsters starter Manuel Peña turned in a top-notch performance against the Baton Rouge Brass at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The result was a win for the Monsters, 1-0. Monongahela has now won 3 straight, while the Brass have lost 3 in a row.

The Monsters procured the win, in large part because of pinch hitter Tao Kaukini. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

In postgame comments to the Monongahela Daily, Kaukini said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
