The Norfolk Pajaritos defeated the Sacramento Redlegs, 7-5, in part because of pinch hitter Gilbert Guy. Guy went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Pajaritos. Roger de Gooyer recorded his 17th save for Norfolk. The 6th-place Pajaritos sport a record of 33-38.

Norfolk took a 7-5 lead on Guy's 16th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Roy Huntingford in the top of the sixth, propelled Norfolk to the win.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Guy, "one at-bat at a time."
