Pennington Powers Fighting Dachshunds Offense

Thanks in large part to first baseman Lou Pennington, the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds beat the Norfolk Pajaritos, 8-3. Pennington was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Ellenburg reliever Anthony Payne picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Warren Evans absorbed the loss. Ellenburg has a record of 50-46, placing them 4th in the Premier AAA.
Carlos Manuel aided the Ellenburg cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Manuel told reporters after the game.
