Sacramento starter Yoshitaka Shinohara pitched well against the Syracuse Starks at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4, in 10 innings. The win went to Bernardo Hernández in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Richello Dosono took the loss. The 8th-place Starks dropped to 42-57.

The Redlegs got a clutch hit from center fielder Kel Allen. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Redlegs.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Shinohara.
