Flyers Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win
|
The performance of Preston Wilson proved critical in helping Pennsauken beat Syracuse, 4-3, in 11 innings. The Flyers right fielder went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Pennsauken reliever Bob McCann picked up the win to move to 2-7. James Tucker suffered the loss. Pennsauken is now 55-44, while Syracuse is 51-48.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the 11th. With Pennsauken trailing 3-2, Wilson jumped on a fastball from 41-year old right-handed pitcher James Tucker and hit a 2-run home run to right. With one swing, the Flyers had a walk-off win.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Wilson. "But we got it done."
