Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Austin Black Mambas home opener. Francisco Aguilar started for the home team against Javier Salinas for the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves. The Black Mambas were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 7-5, Philadelphia. Javier Salinas, though, was impressive. Bill Carson picked up his 1st save of the season.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Carlos Martínez? The Philadelphia left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Liberty Reserves on top, 5-1. For the game, Martínez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Martínez.
