5-Hit Blitz by Maejima

Koryusai Maejima told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."
Well, that's just what Maejima of the Hartford Pride did against the Alaskan Humpbacks. He went to the plate 7 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a 6-5 defeat.
"Not much I can say," offered Maejima in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?"
Koryusai Maejima doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Robert Erickson in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th and singled in the 14th.
During the current season Maejima is batting at a .327 clip with 1 home run and 5 RBIs. He has played in 11 games and scored 5 times.
