Plaistowe Leads Flamingos to Win
|
The 7-3 Florence win over Syracuse was due largely to Ryan Plaistowe. The Flamingos center fielder was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. The win was credited to Chris Stroud in relief. His record improves to 1-0. David Cole took the loss. The loss puts Syracuse at 0-2.
Plaistowe had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count fastball from David Cole, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Flamingos a 7-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Plaistowe.
"I put some good swings on the ball tonight," said Plaistowe.
