The Hartford Pride topped the Kansas Rainbeaus by a score of 7-5. Leading the way was first baseman Henry Roberts. Roberts went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Pride. Hartford pitcher Fernando López got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mike McCauley got the loss. With the loss, Kansas drops to 0-2.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 11th inning. With no one out, Steve Allison hit a 2-0 fastball from Mike McCauley for a run-scoring single. It put Hartford in front, 5-4.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Roberts.
