Despite a great performance by Calgary third baseman Stephan Tietmeyer, the Austin Black Mambas defeated the Lynx by the score of 7-6 in 10 innings at Mamba Park. Tietmeyer went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Austin reliever Jesús Hernández was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Luis Tobías. The defeat makes Calgary 4-1.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Austin first baseman Ralph Garrison, facing Luis Tobías, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Black Mambas the 7-6 win.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Garrison.
