The Florence Flamingos knocked off the Milton Dogfish Head, 3-2, in USSL Triple A action at Florence Field. Florence pitcher and Hector, Minnesota, native Denver Butler had an outstanding performance. Luis Pizarro, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. Florence is now 2-5.

Scott Potter had a big solo home run for the Flamingos in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Florence leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a cutter from former first round draft pick Junior Smith and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Flamingos on top, 3-1.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Butler.
