Red-Hot Black Mambas Win Again
|
Behind the hitting of Jon Anderson, the Austin Black Mambas stopped the Monongahela Monsters, 6-5. Anderson was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Black Mambas. Dan Gibbs got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 4 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. Horace Hill closed the door for Austin, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Anderson made an early impact for Austin when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the top of the third, put the Black Mambas on top, 6-0.
"Nice win for us," said Anderson. "Now we'll go after the next one."
The loss drops Monongahela to 5-3.
