Milton Bats Quiet in 6-1 Loss
|
Milton had no answer for 26-year old left-handed pitcher Neil Herrera. The Florence Flamingos starter stymied Dogfish Head hitters, helping the Flamingos cruise to victory, 6-1. Herrera, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. With the loss, Milton drops to 3-6.
Willie Scott was vital to the Florence win. He was 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth with two out, Scott hit a 2-run single. It made the score 3-1, in favor of the Flamingos.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Flamingos manager José Mejía.
